Meet the Lumière Dreamers: Sharon Minemoto

Pianist, Sharon Minemoto's Quartet is made up of some of Western Canada's finest musicians. Her memorable compositions are influenced by a wide range of styles including jazz, rock, funk and classical. The album and much of the music on their most recent release, "Safe Travels" is written in memory of Minemoto's long-time partner, jazz pianist/saxophonist, Ross Taggart who lost his battle with renal cancer in 2013. Raul da Gama of The Whole Note Magazine, describes Minemoto as "imaginative and lyrical as a composer, with pianistic technique in spades. This recording will not only be remembered for its elegiac reconstruction of the larger-than-life personality that Taggart was, especially among Canada’s West Coast musical community. It will also draw accolades for its gorgeous, cinematic quality." The quartet is planning on recording a new album in early 2023. With Jon Bentley on saxophones, Darren Radtke on bass and Bernie Arai on drums.
